Dr. Andy Brown is debatably the main character in Everwood with most of the show's storys being revolved around his character. He is played by Treat Williams

Andy Brown had a wife, who died before the Browns moved to Everwood and has two children, Ephram and Delia. He continued to see and converse with his dead wife during the first season and had trouble getting over her death and moving on with his romantic life throughout the series.

Season 1

Before moving to Everwood, Dr. Andrew Brown was a famous neurosurgeon living in New York City. He was mainly an absentee father, putting his work before his family most of the time. Although his daughter was still young and hadn't grown resentful, Andy had a strained relationship with his son and wife by the she died in a car wreck. Andy decided to move to Everwood to fulfill a promise he made to his wife should she die.

Upon moving to the titular small mountain town in Colorado, Andy opened up a free practice in the defunct train station. This newfound competition with a famous and world-renowned surgeon resulted in a rivalry between Andy and Everwood's only other doctor, Harold Abbott.
